Xiguo Fresh · Taste Yunnan Plateau in Malaysia

2026 08/07

Xiguo Agro Trade recently concluded a fruitful business tour across Malaysia, centering on Kuala Lumpur’s international food exhibition, industry exchange meetings and field visits to local fruit wholesale markets, aiming to expand ASEAN market layout and build long-term agricultural cooperation partnerships.

During the Malaysia Food Show Expo held at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre, Xiguo showcased signature Yunnan premium fruits including Shidian winter peaches, Binchuan pomegranates, Wenshan mushrooms and natural jasmine tea, drawing wide attention from local fruit importers, supermarket chain buyers, catering groups and representatives of the Malaysia Chinese Chamber of Commerce. All fresh fruits adopt intelligent sorting & cold-chain fresh-keeping packaging, complete with HALAL inspection certification that meets Malaysia’s food entry standards, perfectly matching local Muslim consumer market demands. On-site tasting sessions let merchants experience the high sweetness, natural ripening and pesticide-controlled advantages of Yunnan plateau fruits directly, laying a solid foundation for preliminary intent orders.

Outside the exhibition hall, the Xiguo team held in-depth talks with the Malaysia Chinese Chamber of Commerce, local fruit wholesalers and cold chain logistics enterprises. Both sides reached consensus on three core cooperation directions: long-term bulk fruit import contracts, OEM customized gift box packaging for festive markets, and shared cold storage warehouses in Port Klang to cut cross-border logistics loss. Benefiting from RCEP tariff preferences and China-Malaysia fast customs clearance channels, Xiguo’s fresh fruits can be transported from Yunnan to major Malaysian cities within 40 hours via rail-air combined transportation, greatly shortening circulation time while lowering comprehensive costs.

The team also inspected mature fruit distribution centers in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru to study local consumer taste preferences, seasonal fruit sales rules and retail pricing systems. Based on field research, Xiguo will adjust product mix for the Malaysian market: supplying affordable seasonal fresh fruits for daily wholesale channels, and launching high-end gift fruit boxes together with local partners for holiday gifting scenarios.

This Malaysia tour marks Xiguo’s official deep layout in Southeast Asia’s halal fruit market. Moving forward, Xiguo will rely on the cross-border trade advantages between Yunnan and ASEAN, launch regular small-batch trial shipments to Malaysia, gradually build stable sales channels covering West Malaysia and East Malaysia, bring characteristic plateau agricultural products from Southwest China to Malaysian households, and achieve win-win development for Chinese fruit growers and Malaysian distributors.
